I am writing this post because I am fed up!
This post is for all you SHOULD BE authors out there who have amazing stories, ideas, and ways of thinking who are not doing anything to share their message. It’s time for you to write a book. This post will tell you why you should & HOW.
I know what your thinking. How is this guy going to tell me how to write a book and the only thing he has written is a E-Book.
My first book is launching November 13th, 2014 and the title, cover art, etc wil be launched on October 13, 2014.
4 Reasons You Should Write A Book
1. Your Story DESERVES to be shared
Nobody on this earth has done the exact same things you have done since arriving. Nobody has had your experiences. Just the fact that you are reading this blog post means you have survived and have a story to tell. Believe it or not someone needs that boost or inspiration to escape from the pain of life. Some business needs your unique way of thinking to turn their company around. Some person needs your outstanding recipe for making a pizza cakes.
Lesson: Stop Taking Your knowledge for granted.
2. Build Your Confidence
Writing a book gives you a voice in a sea of voices. Not to many people before 30 years old, Before 50. In their entire life write a book. So the mere fact you completed one puts you ahead of the game.
Look at it this way. Oprah, Dwayne Wade, Kanye West, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet guess what they all have in common. They are all authors. And once you write the book you will join the club as well!
3. It makes you an expert
How many times have you read a book or listened to a speech and said to yourself “I say the EXACT same thing to my friends”. Or even what he saying is completely off base and I know a better way. Well 9 times out of 10 that person has a book to their name which automatically to the eyes of many makes that person an expert in that field.
My Best example is Rob Hill.
He has made a GOOD living speaking and writing books from putting his thoughts and experiences out their to the masses. Majority of his advice that get tweeted and instaposted by the masses is rather obvious and simple material. Everybody always tells me “Rob is not even that deep, I tell me friends the same advice”. My advice to you is to do what Rob Hill then and turn that knowledge to the world. It’s your turn to become the expert.
4. You Can Use The Money
Everybody can use an extra bit of money. The cost of printing books is now astronomically low. I can get 1,000 books printed with a month turnaround for less then $3 a book. You need other streams of income. A book is a good way to start. You can sell on location, at conferences, online. So if people enjoy your message you can make my money while you sleep.
Extra: The Process Below allowed me to finish my first book in 40 days. So I decided to share it with you in hopes this can give you the push to get started. This strategy may not work for you but it worked for me.
5 Steps to Writing a Book
1. Write 500 Words a Day
Remember in college when you used to do 10 page papers in one night for a semester long process. Well if you do then you know 500 words is nothing. It takes about 24 minutes. The trick is just writing regardless if it’s good or not. Do not edit while your writing just let it flow. Write 500 words, 5 Days a Week, that’s all you need to have a book in 2-3 months.
2. Do it First Thing in the Morning
First thing in the morning there are zero distractions. Nobody is texting you at 4:30am. Nobody is asking for your attention. It’s just you, your notebook or computer, and your ideas. So write the story that will one day transform somebody’s life or business.
3. Start with a Stories about your life
You don’t have to be an expert to start. You don’t have to have a long list of accomplishments besides your name to start. You may not know all he secrets to success. One thing you do know better then anybody else is yourself! So start with that. You have your whole life to specialize and write novels. But just get the first book out the door.
4. Develop an outline
Before you start you need to develop a outline or framework. It could be having 10 chapters or just three just make sure your book has a beginning, middle, and end.
5. Grab a timer
I give my self 30 minutes each morning. When the alarm sounds I stop. It’s something about time, which gets your mind into overdrive. That stimulation will let your mind know to turn up.
Remember You are important. You are needed. You are a Genius.
