ABOUT DARRYN

Darryn Lee is currently an MBA candidate at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where he is a Consortium Fellow, and has earned a full-tuition, merit-based scholarship.

Prior to school, he was an investment professional at BlackRock within the Defined Contribution business, partnering closely with corporate and public institutions to develop a comprehensive suite of investment solutions that addressed the retirement needs of their employees. Darryn began his career as the lead portfolio analytics advisor to BlackRock’s Global Multi-Asset Strategies business.

Darryn is also an ardent champion of youth development in low-income communities. He has served as a Mentor Coach and Co-Chair of the Mentor Leadership Council for America Needs You, an organization that fights for economic mobility of first-generation college students, and as a junior board member for Children of Promise, an organization that supports children of incarcerated parents. Intensely focused on self-improvement as well, Darryn was a 2014 Fellow of New Leaders Council, a politically progressive training organization, and sat on the advisory board for their NYC chapter; he was also a 2016 Fellow in the Council of Urban Professionals, an organization that empowers, mobilizes, and connects diverse professionals. In 2016, he received the Professional and Community Achievement Award from World of Money for his global contributions.

Originally from the inner-city of Compton, CA, Darryn earned his BBA from Temple University (with Honors Scholar distinction) in International Business and Finance, specializing in Spanish and Latin American Studies. At graduation, Darryn delivered the commencement address to an audience of over 10,000 people. A former Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholar as well, Darryn has a deep passion for traveling and immersing himself in different cultures, having traveled to 25+ countries / city-states across five continents.
