ABOUT JASMINE FARRAR

As an experienced human resource professional and diversity advocate, Jasmine has spent the bulk of her career dedicated to creating workspaces that empower employees to bring their best selves to work and building capability in senior leaders to effectively grow and develop talent. Jasmine has had the pleasure of working at several Fortune 500 companies such as Google, Nestlé, Target, and, most recently, Amazon. Her passion for leadership development, employee engagement, and retention, as well as diversity and inclusion, have allowed her to serve in various capacities spearheading initiatives such as historically black college and university recruiting programs, leadership development workshops, and career mobility courses aimed at helping young professionals navigate the technology industry. In addition to her day-to-day, Jasmine serves as a part-time career coach and professional development instructor at General Assembly and University of Washington. In addition, she organizes networking events in the Greater Seattle area aimed at fostering community amongst African American professionals in technology and building a diverse future pipeline of talent. She has also been a strong advocate and evangelist for building inclusive products to better serve underrepresented populations and increase customer diversity.

Jasmine’s passion for equality has been engrained since her youth as a former volunteer for the National Conference for Community and Justice (NCCJ). Her work in her hometown community of Greensboro, NC focused on helping educate high school students on the importance of inclusivity, diversity, and respect for one another. Through weeklong symposiums and workshops, Jasmine helped to tackle climates of racial intolerance to help facilitate an environment where students felt safe to express themselves freely. As a result, she was recognized by the NCCJ of Piedmont Triad for her dedication and tireless efforts to bring change to her community and went on to pursue her Bachelors of Science in Business Management with a focus in Human Resources at North Carolina A&T State University. She has participated in various diversity symposiums such as the Goldman Sachs Diversity Symposium, Nestlé Diversity Leadership Symposium, and the Google BOLD program. She is currently pursuing a Masters in Human Resource Management at the University of Southern California with the long-term goal of launching her own boutique consulting firm to address the racial and economic disparities that contribute to homogenous employee populations in the technology industry.
